The ClimateLaunchpad cleantech ideas competition is the biggest of its kind in the world, running in more than 30 countries.

We brought it to Scotland in 2017 to offer anyone based here the opportunity to access dedicated support to develop a rock-solid business plan and compete against the world’s best to win up to €10,000.

How it works

To kick off the competition we invited entrepreneurs to submit an idea or innovation that could have a positive environmental impact.

Once selected to join ClimateLaunchpad, entrepreneurs took part in a Boot Camp and coaching sessions to help develop their idea to a rock-solid business plan, pitched during the Scotland Final.

The top three winners of each national competition - including those from Scotland - go on to compete in the worldwide Grand Final in Cyprus in October 2017. There is prize money of up to €10,000 for the top three Grand Final winners. On top of that the top ten winners move on to the renowned Climate-KIC Accelerator programme, also offered by ECCI, to help low carbon start-ups get investment-ready.
