ECCI is building an international network of people, projects, partnerships and centres to accelerate the exchange and implementation of good ideas, resources and sustainable economic development.
We work in regions and locations all over the world, including Brazil, Chile, China, Ecuador, Hong Kong, India and the USA.
In July 2015 we launched our first international centre in Hong Kong.
The ‘Team Scotland’ centre will be led by the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) and is funded by the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, BRE Scotland and Scottish Development International.
The centre will share and develop best practise with the Hong Kong government, academic and business partners for the future of carbon technologies in Hong Kong. Low carbon experts will focus on projects related to sustainable construction, air quality, water, waste, resource usage, transport, energy efficiency and smarter cities.

ECCI works in a number of ways:
- We visit and we welcome visitors to our centres
- We join, and participate in, international, national and local networks
- We create projects to address specific issues or gaps
- We establish physical centres in key areas of influence and use them as bases to expand our core activities.
