ECCI Residents - A Home for Low Carbon Innovation
The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) is home to the DHL Deutsche Post Innovation Suite - a dynamic, shared workspace for public, private and third sector organisations and the Low Carbon Ideas Lab - an incubation space offering support, mentoring and world class accommodation for inspirational ideas that accelerate Scotland’s progress towards a low carbon economy.
What we do
The Deutche Post/DHL INNOVATION SUITE brings together talented people from diverse backgrounds & disciplines, in a world-class collaborative environment, all seeking to create a low carbon future.
Unique for an innovation centre, we welcome any idea / organisation that shares our low carbon vision: from small businesses, large corporates and social enterprises; to public sector and voluntary organisations.
The Low Carbon IDEAS LAB enables novel, step change ideas including pre-revenue concepts, intrapreneurs within large organisations and existing small businesses to receive intensive mentoring, network and idea development support, incubated at ECCI.
Residents enjoy modern workspace in an open-plan environment; 24/7 building access, free and discounted event/meeting space; access to ECCI’s expert team and mentoring, funding opportunities and links to the myriad of projects, networks and events in the building.
Residents can also take advantage of internship opportunities via ECCI’s low carbon business incubator and the University of Edinburgh’s carbon focused Masters programmes.
There are 14 current residents of the Innovation Suite ranging from business think tank 2020 Climate Group - set up to advise the Scottish Government on climate; to the Royal Bank of Scotland Sustainability team.
The Ideas Lab recently has seen three intakes and supports a diverse range of low carbon ideas from a carbon saving railcard to gardening products created out of coffee waste and a mobile app for foodies.
