Online S3 strategy and entrepreneurship breakfast workshop

Do you receive, or supply organisations that receive, EU funds?
Do you need to work smart?

Come along to this free breakfast workshop at ECCI to explore a range of free strategy and entrepreneurship tools and help shape the future of innovation and economic growth in Scotland and beyond.

The event, which will be introduced by ECCI Deputy Director Ed Craig, is open to all.

8.30am: Breakfast and networking

9 - 10am: Workshop

Register to attend

The session is part of an EU-funded project called Online S3, which is a digital platform bringing together tools and advice to help people in any sector or role produce a smart specialisation strategy.

A smart specialisation strategy aims to boost economic growth by fostering existing strengths in research and innovation. The European Union is proposing to make the production of a smart specialisation strategy a future requirement for receiving money from the European Structural and Investment Funds.

Despite Brexit, smart specialisation will be integral to the future of enterprise and innovation in Scotland and the UK. The Scottish Government is committed to taking a smart specialisation approach to growth and competitiveness, embedding it in its current Economic Strategy. The UK Government’s Industrial Strategy and City Deal funding mechanism hinge on fostering thematic clusters of innovation in cities and regions.

If you’re keen to explore the Online S3 toolbox in advance of the event, visit www.s3platform.eu, register and click on ‘How to form RIS3’ to browse through the applications.

You can then choose to complete an anonymous questionnaire (approx. 10 mins) on one or more of the tools in the Online S3 toolbox. Please remember to press 'submit' at the end so that your responses are included. The input you provide through the questionnaire will shape the further development of the tools.

ECCI, based in the UK’s most sustainable historic building and with a new base in Hong Kong, brings together people from business, research, communities and governments to turn good low carbon ideas into reality. It supports a thriving community of low carbon enterprises and provides policy insight and evidence to inform government decisions.
