Carbomap join ECCI Innovation Suite.
01 May 2015
CarboMap are the latest organisation to join ECCI’s multidisciplinary, community led innovation space.
Carbomap applies state-of-the-art science to the problem of measuring and mapping the world's forest carbon. The idea was spun out of the University of Edinburgh in 2013, taking forward over five years of world-class research in the development of new forest mapping technologies and approaches.
CarboMaps’s scientific founders have international reputations in remote sensing methodologies, satellite radar mapping, forest structure mapping, carbon sequestration and airborne survey.

The Deutche Post/DHL INNOVATION SUITE brings together talented people from diverse backgrounds & disciplines, in a world-class collaborative environment, all seeking to create a low carbon future.
Unique for an innovation centre, ECCI’s Deutche Post DHL INNOVATION SUITE welcomes any idea / organisation that shares our low carbon vision: from small businesses, large corporates and social enterprises; to public sector and voluntary organisations.
Carbomap join fellow mapping experts GeoGeo, who moved in to the Suite in March. GeoGeo helps governments, organisations and communities around the globe benefit from cutting edge geospatial technologies.
Recent incoming residents also include the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS). AWS took off with a bang, unveiling its Water Stewardship capacity-building program for the first time in Scotland soon after moving in in March.
Following last year’s launch of the International Water Stewardship Standard, the capacity-building program aims to equip water management and sustainability professionals with the knowledge they need to implement or promote water stewardship.
