ECCI Wins Outstanding Achievement Award
31 May 2013
ECCI was delighted to be awarded an outstanding achievement award by the European Structural Fund Programme this month.
The award acknowledges ECCI's contribution to actively delivering projects that contribute to meeting the '2020 vision' for the 2007-2013 programme.
The award was presented by the Director of Structural funds Shane Rankin after senior fund experts selected around 15 of the 1000 or so projects over the the full 2007-2013 programme for outstanding achievement.
There were 5 categories in all including: best audit / project procedures and systems; Significant output and impact; and Success in contributing to meeting the 2020 vision.
Ed Craig, ECCI's Head of Business Innovation, heads up the EU Programme, he said: "The award is a great honour especially as only two other Universitiy led organisations were commended.
The '2020 vision' award is also of particular significance as it was the only award actively pointing to the need for ongoing and future work, as well as commending existing and previous endeavour. That means we hope ECCI will be involved with future programme development. We're really pleased to gain this great endorsemnt but equally we've still got a lot we want to achieve!"
