ECCI supported start ups tour USA with Climate KIC

17 September 2012

ECCI supported companies UWI Technology and Pure VLC have just returned from a whistlestop tour of the US to promote their climate ventures within the USA innovation ecosystem.

Thanks to an introduction by ECCI’s Andrew Mitchell, Green Tech start-ups UWI Technology and Pure VLC were recently selected to take part in the Climate-KIC Incubation Programme and USA Start Up Tour.

The tour provides a platform for European innovators and entrepreneurs to expose and promote their climate ventures within the USA innovation ecosystem.

The tour started on September 5th with an entrepreneurship tour of the Silicon Valley ecosystem and meetings with potential investors, business partners and customers, followed by a series of events and meetings in the US bureaucratic capital Washington DC and ending in Boston with MIT and Harvard Business School’s clean tech.

The companies also received expert mentorship and support from experienced entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial visionaries including Steve Blank, Andrew Isaacs, Ken Morse, Michael Bruce, Leon Sandler and Joe Lassiter who all shared their ideas about entrepreneurship, Clean-tech and the opportunities in the United States.
