2022 UK Alliance for Disaster Research Conference

Disaster research and innovation at a time of global uncertainty

Hosted at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI).

Call for session proposals is OPEN

The deadline has been extended until 25th April. Submit your proposal(s) using the form at the link below.

Organisers encourage sessions on applied research that are responding to these global challenges and on the future of disaster research and innovation during turbulent times. Sessions co-organised by researchers and practitioners are particularly welcome.

Please include the title for your session, and a summary of what you would like to do and how it relates to the theme of the conference (up to 150 words). You will need to specify the ‘style’ of your session (workshop or based on abstracts) but please note organisers will only be able to accept 2 workshops as would like to encourage inclusivity and a range of oral presentations.

Conference information

The conference aims to encourage an inclusive discussion on major global challenges (e.g. the climate crisis, conflict and emerging from the pandemic) and the role of disaster research and innovation in a time of uncertainty. The event will also host the Annual General Meeting of the UKADR.

Poster sessions will run during the conference and the calls for poster and oral presentation abstracts will be launched in early Summer.

A call for abstracts will be announced in May, with registration opening in Summer.
