Climate experts

ECCI is a hub for climate expertise.

As part of the University of Edinburgh, ECCI connects to expert knowledge from across the university, across all disciplines related to climate change.

Our value lies not only in what we know, but who we know – both in the UK and internationally. Our community of experts spans business and innovation support, carbon and climate policy, research, industry, project management and communications.

We use our in-house expertise and strong links within the data, clean tech and public sectors to deliver real world impact. From transforming game-changing start-ups into growth businesses to turning research insights into innovative local and urban projects.

World-leading research and innovation

We’re also hosted by one of the world’s best universities, which is itself aiming to be zero carbon by 2040. And we’re based in one of the world’s most climate-ambitious countries, with low carbon industries worth £11 billion a year.

That means that as well as our in-house expertise, residents and partner networks, we connect to expert knowledge from across the university, across all subject disciplines related to climate change.

The University of Edinburgh's world-leading academics work on research aimed at tackling climate change, examining everything from carbon management through to wind and wave technology. Institutes include:

The impact of climate change will affect all sectors of our economy and be felt across society.
