CANCELLED: Biopolis: exploring the city as a living system

Part of ECCI's day of events at Edinburgh Science Festival.

NB: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO ECCI'S CLOSURE DURING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) OUTBREAK

An exhibition of artworks and a screening of a series of short films exploring the city as a living system. The event is free and unticketed.

Join us on Saturday 4 April for the opening of the exhibition, produced by students from Edinburgh College of Arts’ MFA Art Space Nature programme, and a screening of experimental short films exploring the topic.

  • Exhibition opening 15:30 to 17:30, ECCI Atrium and Level 0
  • Film screening 16:00 (45 mins), ECCI Conference Room

Following the opening event the exhibition will stay open weekdays 8:45-16:45 until Monday 20 April.

The short films were produced by MA and MFA students from Art, Space and Nature (ASN) at the Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) in collaboration with Composition for Screen MSc students from ECA's School of Music.

The exhibiton opening and screening follows Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas on the Climate Crisis, 14:00-15:30. Join us as some of our brightest and bravest climate change thinkers let their most dangerous ideas loose on the public. Part of Edinburgh Science Festival.

Also part of ECCI's series of events leading up to The United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow in November - an opportunity to put the world back on track to meeting the Paris Climate Goals and so keep global temperature increase to well below 2 degrees Celsius.
