Decide Your Climate Future - ECCI @ Edinburgh Science Festival

Edinburgh

We're back for Edinburgh Science Festival 2025!

ECCI is running three interactive, family orientated sessions at the National Museum on Monday 14 April entitled 'Decide Your Climate Future'.

Researchers from ECCI, led by Co-Director Kate Donavan, will showcase our climate change work and together participants will draw a vision of a thriving future, living with climate change.

The sessions aim to encourage positive discussions about climate change to help people understand what we are doing as scientists to work on the challenge and to reduce anxiety.

Sessions will include crafting, drawing and discussion as we collectively 'model' what a future place we love might look like under a different climate.

Check out ECCI Co-Director Kate Donavan explaining more about the event in this short trailer:

Edinburgh Science Festival 2025

Running from Saturday 5 – Sunday 20 April, ESF 2025 explores the challenges of living on a planet with finite resources, through the lenses of science fiction and space exploration, with the theme Spaceship Earth.

‘Live like an astronaut’ in the battle cry of a new movement that urges us to learn from the constraints of living on a space station, or a distant planet, where resources are impossibly constrained and every gram of material and watt of energy is precious. Transferring these principles to life on Earth would radically reduce the pressures we place on natural resources.
