Decolonising the Global Economy for climate and social justice

Presented by Edinburgh Global Justice Youth

Join Global Justice Youth to hear from an incredible international panel about decolonising our global economy for climate and social justice.

Much of the global economy is based on exploiting cheap labour and the environment, benefitting the wealthy and corporations while perpetuating poverty in the global south.

This systemic injustice is also evident in the way the climate crisis has been caused by the rich world and effects those in the global south worst.

Speakers will discuss the origins of this neo-colonial system, the rules which prop it up and how we can collectively change it!

We will hear from:

  • Dorothy Guerrero, head of policy at Global Justice Now
  • Mohammed Elnaiem, Decolonial Centre
  • Liz Murray, Global Justice Now Scotland and Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty
