Expert panel discussion exploring how researchers can get involved in United Nations reports.

Edinburgh Earth Initiative

Join Edinburgh Earth Initiative for a panel discussion exploring how researchers can get involved in contributing to UN climate and nature reports.

Hear from three University of Edinburgh academics who have been involved in writing major UN reports, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.

Speakers include:

  • Prof Peter Alexander - Personal Chair of Global Food Systems, School of Geosciences, Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems
  • Prof Gabi Hegerl - Professor of Climate System Science, School of GeoSciences
  • Prof Lindsay Beevers - Chair of Environmental Engineering and Head of Infrastructure and Environment Research Institute, School of Engineering

Panelists will share insights into the historic reports they’ve contributed to, how they got involved and what involvement looks like.

For PhD students, postdocs, and academics interested in becoming authors, reviewers, etc. for these major reports.

Followed by a Q&A.

No need to book or RSVP - just turn up.
