Responding to the Climate Crisis

Presented by the University of Edinburgh's Social Responsibility and Sustainability department.

Join The University of Edinburgh's Social Responsibility and Sustainability department to learn more about the climate crisis, how it impacts the University, how the University is responding and what you can do to get involved.

Staff and students will learn about the University’s strategic approach to the climate crisis - including its commitment to become carbon neutral by 2040 - and have an opportunity to share their thoughts on the University's approach.

This event is comprised of 2 x 25 minute sessions:

1. Welcome and talks: what the climate crisis is, how it impacts the University, how the University is responding and what you can do to get involved.

2. A "World café": staff and students will have the opportunity to learn about various topics in more detail and provide their feedback. Topics such as academic research, student teaching and University operations will be presented at various tables, with staff and students free to move between them to find out more and provide feedback.

Each session will occur twice over the morning to give as many staff and students as possible the chance to attend at least one.

ECCI staff and projects will be participating in the World Cafe, showcasing how our vibrant low carbon centre supports the University’s drive to meet its ambitious targets and offers a unique space for local and international impact.
