Presented by ECCI residents SNIFFER
Sniffer is delighted to announce the return of the annual Scottish Flood Risk Management Conference. The 2-day hybrid conference will be held in person on 22 – 23 February 2023 at Perth Concert Hall, and sessions will be available online.
The theme of this year’s conference is Water Resilient Places.
Climate change compels us to work together to ensure that Scotland’s places continue to thrive despite the heightened flood risks brought by rising sea levels and more intense and frequent rainstorms. Climate change impacts – including flooding – pose significant risks, and the UK Climate Change Committee recently highlighted that Scotland’s progress in adapting to these risks has stalled. We must take this opportunity to create places rich in green and blue space which:
By working smartly and collaboratively we can also unlock opportunities for investment in the emerging market for nature-based solutions.
The flood risk challenge posed by climate change cannot not be tackled by flood risk professionals alone. The conference will be of interest to practitioners from the broad community of multidisciplinary solutions we need to address Scotland’s changing flood risk.
