Sea Scotland 2019: Marine and coastal climate change with a focus on adaptation

Scotland’s marine environment, and the ecosystem services it provides, is at risk from numerous climate change impacts and there is evidence that numerous marine species are already being affected. Sea Scotland will bring together a variety of marine professionals, decision-makers, community interests and young people to draw on current research and discuss these issues:

  • Which are our most vulnerable habitats and species, and how can we better protect them?
  • How can we implement solutions through existing mechanisms, such as the marine planning system and marine protected areas?
  • Are there any benefits of climate change to the marine environment that can be sustainably utilised?
