A 3-day workshop organised by Space Scotland exploring what space-based agriculture paired with biotechnology may offer. Focused on the new frontier of closed environment systems for food production in space, it will tackle its growing challenges and incredible potential to move towards a more sustainable space-based agriculture industry in Scotland.
DAY 1 - The participants will be provided with a comprehensive overview of growing different food types in closed environments and the latest knowledge and technologies needed for their cultivation.
DAY 2 - The KE Consortia will encourage discussions and debates among participants, with facilitators moderating conversations to share diverse expertise and perspectives.
DAY 3 - The focus will be the practical application of the knowledge and expertise within Scotland, addressing the challenges and opportunities of implementing space-based agriculture within the country, including regulatory considerations, funding, and infrastructure requirements.
