Public Sector Climate Action: Working Together to Deliver

SSN’s Annual Conference on public sector climate action taking place on Wednesday 24 May 2023. The Conference will bring together a wide range of experts, leaders, practitioners and members to tackle some of the key policy priorities for Scotland’s public sector to respond to climate change and meet its legislative commitments. This is a key event for anyone working on climate change and sustainability in the public sector.

This year’s conference will feature a Ministerial Address by the Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, with time for questions, as well as plenary sessions on Public Sector Climate Leadership and key policy developments.

Choose from a range of breakout sessions on delivery challenges including: finance; integrating mitigation and adaptation; good governance for place-based climate action; embedding carbon assessment in decision making; and skills for a net zero, resilient future.

This is the main event for those in the public sector who are working to embed climate change and sustainability in their organisations, who are demonstrating leadership on climate change, and who are responsible for aligning resources and driving delivery towards Net Zero and climate resilience through a just transition.

Registration for the conference will open in early April. Until then, mark the event in your diary and alert your colleagues who also need to attend. Read the draft programme here.
