With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Ramoo and the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA) have been promoting sustainable alternatives in crop cultivation and improving the livelihoods of farming households in India.
CSA is the largest certifier of organic farmers in India and works with more than 50,000 farmers across 10 states. Their work involves providing training in organic and sustainable crop cultivation for farmers and extension personnel, establishing market linkages for farmer cooperatives in wholesale and retail markets, and creating decentralized farmer-owned seed systems.
Dr. Ramoo is a leading agricultural policy advisor in India, and across the region, particularly as relates to sustainable agriculture.
