What deep-rooted systems need to evolve to tackle the climate crisis? (DfE COP26 GenZero classroom)

Part of the COP26 GenZero classroom programme hosted by the UK Government's Department for Education.

As the COP26 negotiations kick off in Glasgow, the world is watching to see if negotiations can meet the global challenges of addressing the climate crisis. How can we lower greenhouse gas emissions, while still addressing inclusivity and fairness? What systems will need to change in order to achieve that?

Join representatives of the University of Edinburgh’s renowned MSc Carbon Management for a lively debate on what ‘traditional’ and deep-rooted systems still need to evolve to better address the climate crisis.

Eleonora Lekaviciute (Lithuania), Chloé Lewis (UK), Sara Lucía Barrios Parra (Colombia), and Gaurav Gupta (India) will share their experiences and thoughts to debate what global institutions and systems still need significant transformation to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Chaired by Toni Freitas (USA/Scotland), Programme Director of the MSc Carbon Management.
