Just Resilience: Verture’s 2026 -31 strategy
ECCI residents Verture, the climate resilience charity, launched their 2026 -31 strategy to a packed audience in ECCI’s flagship building in Edinburgh last week.
The strategy sets out what Verture - the UK’s only charity focused solely on climate resilience - want to achieve over the next five years and how the ECCI based organisation will work to strengthen climate resilience across Scotland and the UK.
“Climate change is already shaping daily life, and its impacts will become more frequent and more disruptive in the years ahead. Our response is built on urgency, fairness and hope. We put justice at the centre of our work because the people already facing inequality are the ones hit hardest by climate impacts. For us, building resilience has to go hand in hand with building fairness.” - Verture
The strategy also outlines how the charity will work collaboratively with communities, partners and decision‑makers to make climate resilience part of everyday life.
Long-term partnership working
Formerly known as Sniffer, Verture has been a close partner of ECCI since its inception, working collaboratively across training, research and climate action, including the organisation's Becoming Climate Resillient education programme and Adaptation Scotland, which provides advice and support to help Scotland be prepared and resilient to the effects of climate change.
“This isn’t about short‑term projects. It’s about long-lasting change rooted in lived experience, shared learning and strong relationships.” - Verture
