Climate Springboard announces new funding partnerships

ECCI has partnered with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) to continue delivering Climate Springboard, its free, flagship net zero training programme for small- and medium-sized entreprises (SMEs) in Scotland.

Over the next year, these two new partnerships will enable the Climate Springboard team to support up to 120 more businesses based in the Highlands and Islands and Scottish Borders regions to measure their carbon footprint and make a net zero action plan.

Climate Springboard has already supported nearly 300 businesses across Scotland, from jewellery makers and crofters to lawyers and offshore construction firms.

We're excited to grow the programme in 2026 to help even more SMEs – which are responsible for an estimated 36% of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions – to make clear, measurable progress in reducing their contribution to climate change.

SMEs in Scotland are under pressure from customers and government to make progress toward net zero. But this often leads to mixed messaging about what 'net zero' and the climate crisis actually means for them.

Climate Springboard offers clear, practical and consistent support — helping organisations move from uncertainty and overwhelm to meaningful action and greater resilience.

HIE and SOSE are government-funded public bodies that encourage investment and support businesses in their regions to thrive.
