Have your say on Scotland’s Climate Change Adaptation Programme

The Scottish Government is consulting on a new Climate Change Adaptation Programme ahead of its launch in autumn 2019. Over the next six weeks you can have your say on the draft Programme and how best to monitor progress.

The move follows work by ClimateXChange, hosted by ECCI, with the Scottish Government to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess progress towards climate adaptation outcomes.

The Scottish Government's proposed programme builds on previous sector and risk-based approaches but is outcomes-based, connecting to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Scotland’s National Performance Framework. Ministers want the second Adaptation Programme to deliver stronger collaboration and emphasise the wider benefits of climate action.

For the first time, Scotland’s Adaptation Programme will also explore behaviour change – how individuals, communities and businesses make the best choices in our changing climate.
