Climate Action Map
The Climate Action Map brings together many spatial data sources into one place including networks, buildings, energy, transport and adaptation to help take a strategic view on developing net zero infrastructure.
Part of our partnership with the Net Zero Edinburgh Leadership Board, this resource uses GIS mapping to support collaborative infrastructure planning and investment for Edinburgh’s net zero transition.
The project pulls together over 150 data layers from an ever-growing list of sources demonstrating the importance of data visualisation not only for analysis but communication and collaborative decision making.
The Map was created as part of ECCI's work with the Net Zero Edinburgh Leadership Board (NZELB), the city's governance framework established in 2022 from Edinburgh's 2030 Climate Strategy. The board is tasked with supporting the collaborative development of strategic city infrastructure in line with Edinburgh’s 2030 net zero target. It consists of six city partners: Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN), SGN, Scottish Water, NHS Lothian, the University of Edinburgh and the City of Edinburgh Council.
