Carbon Capture and Storage FAQs

Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage (SCCS) is the largest carbon capture and storage (CCS) research group in the UK. SCCS FAQs is a list of commonly asked questions concerning the safety and levels of risk associated with offshore underground storage of carbon dioxide (CO2). The list of questions was compiled by:

  • Reviewing questions and concerns appearing in the public perception and NGO literature; and
  • Expert review of the compiled question list.

Answers are based on the evidence base gathered and presented previously.
