Hannah Ritchie is Deputy Editor and Lead Researcher at Our World in Data, the online publication that brings together the latest data and research on the world’s largest problems. She is a senior researcher at the University of Oxford's Programme of Global Development, at the Oxford Martin School. Her research focuses on environmental sustainability, ranging from climate and energy, to global food systems and biodiversity. She also focuses on how environmental solutions intersect with socioeconomic development – and how to pursue both at the same time.
She is also a senior Researcher in the Programme for Global Development at the University of Oxford. Her research appears regularly in the New York Times, Economist, Financial Times, BBC, WIRED, New Scientist, the Washington Post and Vox.
She holds a BSc in Environmental Geoscience, MSc in Carbon Management, and a PhD, all from the University of Edinburgh.
