Prof Sinclair is a geologist thinking about how long term processes of environmental change can inform how we respond to shorter term challenges facing the natural world.
He has published research in a wide range of journals that ask questions about how landslides and earthquakes impact the rivers of the Himalaya, and how the communities that depend upon them can adapt.
Prof Sinclair is currently part of a £20M project on multihazard risk management for future cities in developing countries - also evaluating how rewilding impacts rivers in the Cairngorms.
