Rodaidh McLaughlin

Administrative Assistant

Rodaidh runs the administration of ECCI. As well as assisting the ECCI Directorate and wider leadership team, Rodaidh helps facilitate the delivery of internal and external events within ECCI, and generally keeps the institute ticking over.

Rodaidh’s work at ECCI is part of a much larger role within the School of GeoSciences, where he supports the activity of GeoSciences’ research institutes, including overseeing the process of awarding research grants, organising symposia and recurring meetings. Rodaidh also supports the delivery of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion activity across the School; the Industrial Engagement working group; Ion Micro-Probe Facility Steering Committee; the Rosemary Hutton Lecture series; the hosting of external visitors; the delivery of wellbeing training throughout the year; the appointment of honorary staff; as well as much more miscellaneous administrative work.

Rodaidh has a degree in history and politics. Prior to joining the University, he worked for an NGO focused on widening access to higher education.
