ECCI hosts COP Cafe for COP 30
As COP 30 unfolds in Belém, the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI) and the Edinburgh Earth Initiative (EEI) invite students, researchers, and colleagues to engage with the global climate negotiations here in Edinburgh.
Through COP Café, running during COP 30 from 10–21 November, the ECCI Café will host live screenings, expert discussions, and interactive pop-up events exploring how international climate goals connect with local research, education, and action.
See below for more details on these upcoming events and how you can take part in the conversations shaping the future of climate action.
Thought leadership
More than 20 academics, including ECCI Co-Director Stuart Haszeldine, have contributed to a brochure capturing how the University of Edinburgh is using its research, innovation and thought-leadership to address the issues being discussed at COP30.
The publication, ‘Advancing action Edinburgh’s Research and Reflections for COP30 and the Future’ includes essays where experts delve into the complex issues of climate change and offer solutions and reflections grounded in their current research, where they are driving systemic change across six pillars:
- Transitioning Energy, Industry, and Transport
- Stewarding Forests, Oceans, and Biodiversity
- Transforming Agriculture and Food Systems
- Building Resilience for Cities, Infrastructure, and Water
- Fostering Human and Social Development
- Unleashing Enablers and Accelerators
