We're celebrating the amazing women working in climate science here at ECCI for the International Day of Women & Girls in Science and sharing their advice for women and girls interested in entering the field.

Here we chat to Jenny Fausset, Engagement Officer working for the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Secretariat based in ECCI. SSN is Scotland's largest network of public sector sustainability professionals.

Who are you and where do you work? 

Hello, I’m Jenny Fausset and I’m an Engagement Officer working for the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Secretariat based in ECCI.

What do you enjoy about your area of expertise/what inspired you to enter a career in in your area of expertise? 

I have always been interested in science and the fact that we humans are just one part of a big ecosystem!  I enjoy working with people and in SSN we signpost and share sustainability good practice across the public sector in Scotland.  I get to meet and work with enthusiastic colleagues on a wide ranging number of topics every day! 

Do you have a message for young women and girls who are considering a career in STEM/climate change? 

Go for it! 

The opportunities that await you are open ended – there are many avenues you can choose to go down and you will meet many inspirational people on your journey!
