SSN Annual Conference 2024
On 22nd May 2024, the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) welcomed over 350 delegates to its annual on public sector climate action.
With a secritariat based at ECCI, the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) is Scotland’s public sector network on sustainability and climate change.
SSN's annual conference welcomed a wide range of delegates, speakers, partners and experts from across Scotland's public sector and beyond. Sharing key research, reports and projects to inform SSN members and encourage collaboration.
The Conference set out the wider national context of the climate and nature emergencies and the challenges and opportunities currently facing Scotland and the public sector.
Panel sessions welcomed speakers working across key areas of climate change. We heard first-hand from SSN members as they shared their own experiences of implementing plans and projects aimed at tackling climate change and the wider sustainability agenda.
The afternoon focussed on Adaptation, led by the SSN Sub-Committee. The session highlighted the importance of taking a holistic approach to adaptation by looking at how it can help future proof and climate proof key policy areas.
Key messages identified included the vital need for collaboration and realising of the significant co-benefits of climate based actions.
