Join Edinburgh’s dynamic climate change team

City of Edinburgh Council has announced a range of exciting opportunities at the heart of the city’s climate change mission.

The Council recently declared a climate emergency and set out a bold ambition for the city to be carbon neutral by 2030.

As part of this programme, the Council will work with ECCI, EIT Climate-KIC, and wider city partners over the next 5 years to scope and implement the system innovation and investment needed to meet the challenge of becoming a carbon neutral city.

Experienced, self-motivated, and flexible professionals are sought to join the City of Edinburgh Council’s Corporate Policy and Insight section to support the programme of work.

These new posts will join an existing team of highly motivated professionals who together will provide the leadership, energy and drive to deliver a progressive sustainability agenda.

Interviews will be conducted remotely by videoconference.

  • Senior Communications and Engagement Officer - Apply by Friday 17 April
  • Senior Change and Delivery Officer (Carbon Management) - Apply by Thursday 16 April

The city is one of only 10 European cities leading the way on climate change as part of the ‘Healthy, Clean, Cities Deep Demonstration’ programme aiming to secure a swift and just transition to a low carbon future for Scotland.

The work will be informed by the newly established independent Climate Commission for Edinburgh, which the Council is co-sponsoring with ECCI and the UK-wide Place-based Climate Action Network.
